Product description

Understand your fertility – the ovarian reserve test (AMH) gives you valuable insights into your egg reserve.

The number of eggs available to a woman over the course of her life is limited from birth and decreases over the years. The ovarian reserve test measures the level of Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) in your blood. This laboratory value is considered one of the most reliable markers for assessing your current egg reserve. A higher value generally indicates a larger reserve, while lower values may indicate a reduced reserve.

Why is this test so important?

Many women want to plan their families consciously – whether they are hoping to become pregnant soon, considering social egg freezing or planning to start a family later. Understanding your ovarian reserve early on provides clarity and enables you to make more informed decisions. This gives you valuable time and options.

Your benefits at a glance:

  • Scientifically sound: AMH is an established marker that fertility clinics also use regularly.
  • Practical and discreet: Collect your sample conveniently at home; it is analysed by a certified specialist laboratory.
  • Clearly presented: Your report includes not only the measured values but also an assessment in comparison with age-specific reference ranges.
  • Guidance for the future: A useful starting point for discussing next steps with your doctor.

Good to know: The AMH test provides an important indication of ovarian reserve, but it is no substitute for comprehensive medical advice. Factors such as age, lifestyle and pre-existing conditions also play a role. Use the result as a basis for making informed decisions about your family planning.

Why is the test important?

Knowing your egg reserve means you can plan ahead. The number of eggs decreases with age, but the rate varies greatly from person to person.

  • One result, greater clarity: AMH reflects your current egg reserve, largely regardless of the day of your cycle.
  • Informed decisions: Whether you are planning a family, considering social egg freezing or undergoing fertility treatment, the result provides a basis for your decisions.
  • A realistic assessment: The test assesses the quantity, not the quality, of your eggs – and any abnormal findings should be discussed with a doctor.

When should I take the test?

An ovarian reserve test (AMH) may be useful in the following situations:

  • If you are considering family planning
  • If you are having difficulty getting pregnant
  • Before fertility treatment
  • If polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is suspected
  • For a general assessment of fertility

Consult a doctor to interpret your results correctly and plan the appropriate next steps.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

What does the ovarian reserve test (AMH) measure?

The test measures the level of Anti-Müllerian hormone, which provides information about your egg reserve and is therefore an important indicator of female fertility.

Who is the test suitable for?

It is suitable for women who want to check their fertility – whether for family planning or to investigate difficulty conceiving.

How does the test work?

The test is performed using a blood sample, which can also be collected conveniently at home. The sample is then analysed in a laboratory.

What does the AMH level say about fertility?

A high value indicates a good egg reserve, while a low value may indicate reduced fertility. However, the AMH level is only one piece of the picture and should always be interpreted alongside other findings.

How will I receive my results?

You will receive an email with a link to your personal online portal. There, you can view your results and download your reports. Reports are not sent as email attachments.

Can the test also be used during menopause?

Yes. Since AMH levels decrease with age, particularly during menopause, they can also provide an indication that this stage of life is beginning.

Is the test also useful when planning fertility treatment?

Yes, it is often used before fertility treatment to assess the chances of success and plan the therapy as effectively as possible.

Sample collection and test kit

What is the difference between the lancet kit and the TAP kit?

With the lancet kit, a small lancet is used to prick the side of your fingertip. The drops of blood are then collected in the sample tube. With the TAP kit, the sample is collected from your upper arm using a special device. Both options are designed for at-home sample collection.

Which option is right for me?

Choose the collection method you feel more comfortable with. The lancet kit uses your fingertip, while the TAP kit uses your upper arm. When making your choice, also consider the values tested, as listed above.

Are the same values tested with both kits?

Yes. According to the panel overview provided, both kit options test the same values listed above.

What should I keep in mind before collecting my sample?

Read the instructions for your test kit in full. Follow the test-specific requirements for preparation, collection time, sample volume and shipping. Refer to the relevant instructions to find out whether you need to fast before collecting your sample.
